This 16" x 6" Dexstar steel wheel is made to handle serious weight with confidence. 1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Dexstar 16 inch by 6 inch black conventional steel trailer wheel with an offset and the 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this is a sturdy steel construction, has excellent corrosion resistance, and that's because they use a two step finishing process on this, which will first include an eco primer and then a black powder coat finish over the wheel. Now, I call this a conventional design, and that's because it's an automotive style wheel, has a solid center design, and it's designed to accept either a full cover clip on hub cap, or the snap on baby boom hubcaps that'll just cover the center section of the wheel. Also, this wheel has a positive offset of a half an inch, and basically what an offset is, offset is measured from this mounting surface. So, when this mounting surface is directly at the center of the wheel, that's zero, that's the starting point.
If this mounting surface moves towards the face of the wheel or the outside, that's positive, that moves the other direction, that's negative. This one has a positive half inch, so it's moving a half inch towards the outside of the wheel, which, in turn, will move this tire and wheel closer to the trailer when it's installed. This is a high quality wheel. Does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications. Now if you notice, this does not have a center cap.
If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on the website. You do wanna make sure to get one that has the same diameter as this pilot hole. And this pilot hole diameter is 4.89 inches. This wheel is made by Dexstar, which which made means it's made in the USA. A few dimensions I wanna give you on this.
We're gonna measure the diameter and the width of the wheel, and when you measure the diameter, you'll be measuring the inside to inside measurement. Basically, when the tire's mounted on here, the tire beads are gonna seat right here. So you're basically measuring bead seat to bead seat. So if we go inside the inside on this, you'll be able to see 16 inch for the diameter and the width on this, same way, inside the inside, bead seat to bead seat, six inches wide. Bolt pattern on this is an 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern.
And if you wanna measure that bolt pattern on a wheel like this, that's an even number of lugs, it's pretty easy because actually, the lug holes you can see are directly across from each other. So if you just pick one hole measure from the center of that hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it, it's gonna measure 6 1/2 inches. So this will be an 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Does use a wheel lug size of either 1/2 inch by 20 or 9/16 by 18, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 3,750 pounds. But that should do it for a look at this Dexstar 16 inch by 6 inch black conventional steel trailer wheel, with an offset and the 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern.

I have purchased 4 or these wheels and 4 hub covers to be used on a 1955 1st series 3/4 ton Chevrolet truck and I am extremely happy with these wheels! They clear the tie rods enough, but probably won’t be able to put balance weights on the inside. Some installers put balance weights on the inside, so I will let them know not to. Again, I’m very happy with these wheels and the service. They came quickly and in good condition and Allison K was very pleasant and helpfull. Great company to do business with!
As the 3rd owner of my 1948 Chevrolet 3600, it's been important to find high quality rims to replace the original split rims. The Etrailer rims have the original rear profile and offset as the original rims. I knew the original owners of this truck so it is incumbent upon me to do the very best job I can with this restoration. ust some feedback that might be valued. I purchased the rims on above order #. they were not used until now. I used these rims on my completely original and stock 1954 Chevrolet 3600 3/4 ton truck. I used 215/85/16 10ply tires. Everything fit with no mods, tie rod is close but good. This was a major improvement over my lock ring wheels and bias tires. Fit perfect. hub caps are a little loose but holding tight. Rims has a minimal wobble but acceptable going on my old 1951 3/4 ton gmc replacing the original split rims. Very tight fit had to peen the balance weights so they did not hit steering joints the other reviews were helpfull

Didnt use these for a trailer but rather a 1948 Chev 3/4 ton truck. Coulnt find anyone to touch the original split rims for new tires. Fit perfect with the offset. Good finish on rims. I added hub caps and beauty rings and they look great.

This wheel was a good fit for my 1950 Chevy 36000 (3/4 ton) truck. A great look with the baby moon hubcaps. A nice upgrade due to the service issues with the factory original split rim wheels.

I bought a set of wheels about 6 years ago for my 54 3600 Chevy, needed one more for a spare. As soon as I told the sales person that, they knew what it was and had all of the info for the new order. The whole event took probably less than 5 minutes

The set of wheels and the spare are working as expected and finish has held up well in the outside environment.
These rims fit my 51 Chevy 3600 perfect. The only thing I recommend is to use stick on wheel weights when balancing the front wheels so the weights don't hit the tie rod end. I used 7.5-16 tires and they fit fine with no issues.
