What Is The Towing Capacity Of The 2025 Chevy Trailblazer?
Updated 10/22/2025 | Published 04/09/2025 >
Question:
I just leased a 2025 Chevy trailblazer. I was told I could install a hitch. I called another trailer hitch company and they said the maximum weight I could haul with their hitch is 200 pounds. I have a mobility scooter that is approx 185 pounds. Have a trailer also. I would like your input on whether it is vesisible for me to get the hitch

Hello John, thanks for reaching out. It is possible to install a trailer hitch on the 2025 Chevy Trailblazer, and we do have hitches available such as the Curt Class 3 Hitch # C93VV.
I looked up the online owners manual for the 2025 Trailblazer, and according to the manual it has a towing capacity of 1,000 lbs, and a tongue weight capacity of 100 lbs. So while the Curt # C93VV hitch is rated for 200 lbs, 100 lbs would be your limit for tongue weight capacity since that is what the vehicle is rated for.
This vehicle will really only work for towing a small trailer or lightweight cargo rack or bike rack. There would be no safe way to carry a 185 lb mobility scooter on a cargo carrier. You would need to use a small trailer.

Hey John, how did things go with towing your small trailer behind the Trailblazer? It’d be great to know if the setup handled well with the Curt hitch. Your update could make it easier for others considering a similar load.
