Will the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit Work with My Roadmaster Stowmaster Tow Bars?

Question:

I am looking at a Roadmaster RM-524430-4 base plate kit for my 2013 Ford Focus. I have a Stowmaster all terrain non binding tow bar and want to make certain they are compatible. It appears I would just need to bolt the parts that twist into the base plate to the tow bar with two blots for each side.

Hello Jeffrey,

Happy to confirm these parts for you. The Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-524430-4 is going to be a great fit for your 2013 Ford Focus just as long as you do not have the ST model. Your Roadmaster Stowmaster tow bars like # RM-501 are compatible with that base plate because the stowmaster tow bars have the quick disconnect bar attached to them. You are going to need to bolt up the brackets from the quick disconnect to the base plate, I highlighted the brackets I am referring to in the picture that I attached from the instructions. Then you will able to attach the tow bars with the vertical pin. I attached a video for you to check out as well, at 2 minutes and 37 seconds you will see Robert detach the tow bars and then reattach them.

I see that you asked the question on the wiring page, just wanted to let you know that the # RM-15267 would be my go to wiring as well for the 2013 Ford Focus.

Are you a seasoned flat tower that is getting a different vehicle set-up, or are you new to the flat tow world? I went ahead and included a great help article about all the components needed. It's a great read whether you are seasoned or new to this world. If you have any questions or need suggestions for other components just say the word =)
