What Lock Core Should be Used in Thule Replacement Lockable Knob for Thule Spare Me

Updated 01/21/2025 | Published 01/20/2025

Question:

If I get the Replacement Lockable Knob for Thule Spare Me Spare Tire Bike Rack, Part Number TH93NW, what lock core sold separately is meant to go with it? The knob page doesnt have a link to the appropriate lock core and makes no mention which is the correct one that will fit.

Hey Ted, what does the current lock core you have say on it? We can get you that exact replacement or you could remove the core you have now and reinsert it into the part # TH93NW using the universal change key part # TH42BJ.

I don't currently have a lock core. I don't currently have a knob. I have the Thule spare tire bike carrier, but the plate and knob with lock went away with the car they were mounted on. I would like to use the carrier on my current car, a 2006 Honda CRV. So I am looking to get a new nob with lock, but I don't know which lock core will fit the nob that you sell. Hopefully, you will be able to tell me which one would fit properly.

@Ted I see what you mean now. So what I would go with is the part # Y07202. This comes with everything needed to install a lock core into the knob plus an additional lock core you could install into the cable lock of the Spare Me that will match the knob core as well. This means same key works on the cable lock as the knob.
