Hello, everybody, Steven here with etrailer.com. Folks, today we're taking a quick look at a Universal Change Key for the new Thule Locks. So, folks, this is a Universal Change Key for those factory lock cylinders on the new Thule products. Now, what this does is this allows you to remove an unlocked Thule factory lock and replace that lock with a Thule One-Key System lock. So, I want you to think of this as simply a tool, not as a key, 'cause reality is it's pretty much just a tool. I know it's got lines and grooves in there, but your Thule core must be unlocked.
You would insert this, rotate it just like a tool, and then it would allow you to pull that whole core out and replace it with a Thule One-Key System lock. Well folks, that's gonna wrap it up. Just a quick look today at the Universal Change Key. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.

I’m giving it a one star rating because the product I purchased does not work. After buying a whole new arm unit for my Easy Fold I had to also buy a key to take the lock out of the knob that has stripped threads but it will not fit into the knob of the new arm that was purchased. I have sent videos of what the problem is: the lock is longer than the space in the knob. The answer was to send me a new lock with a key that is exactly the same size as the one that doesn’t work. So I still don’t have the ability to lock two bikes on my rack. I paid about $xxx and the problem is still not solved and it appears that I’m going to have to spend even more money in order to use my very expensive bike rack!

Sorry to hear that, Dennis. Potentially dumb question, is the core unlocked? It will not let you remove or insert the new core if it's locked.

kinda pricey but you need it to get the lock out. Works as advertised
I think that the master key removes the cylinder but I am unable to lock it in place in the rack arm. After my install, only the locking key can remove the core. Unable to lock in place. Useless.
This key made it easy to remove the lock cylinder from an old spar tube assembly to a replacement spar tube assembly so the locks are still keyed alike.
