Weight Rating of Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch for a 2023 Jeep Gladiator

Updated 01/02/2025 | Published 12/29/2024

Question:

Hello, I have a question maybe your company could help me with. I have a 23 Jeep Gladiator Sport with no tow package just wiring. I am interested in getting the Draw Tite DR64FR. According to the description the tow capacity is about 7500 lbs. Would this be correct? Thank you for your time.

Hey Michael,

Yes, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DR64FR does have a max trailer weight rating of 7,500 lbs.

It's important to remember that your 2023 Jeep Gladiator Sport has a lower trailer weight rating (unless you have a diesel) so you'll need to stick with the listed rating for your Gladiator.

From what I'm seeing it looks like your Sport can tow up to 4,500 lbs, but I recommend checking your copy of the owner's manual to make sure what I'm seeing matches up with what you have.

Attached is an installation video of this hitch as well as a photo of what it looks like once installed on a 2023 Gladiator.

So is there any way to increase the towing capacity. Other Gladiators have larger capacities.

@Michael I wish there was, but the different packages on vehicles come with different things so the only way to get an increase in the towing rating is to get Jeep to officially tell you what is different on your Jeep, and then get them to sign off on the higher weight rating if you're able to add those parts and they say it's safe. In my experience the manufacturers just say, "tough luck", but it's still worth asking them.
