I like the hitch, it is a solid straight-forward design. However, I've been to (3) shops so far and nobody will take the job. They don't have the confidence that they can remove and replace the rear bumper and maintain the integrity of the body seams. I am sure that I will eventually find a solution.

A little more than I felt comfortable installing myself (bumper removal and reattachment was the fear factor) but I took it to a really good auto accessories shop in the Denver Area (Aerosuds) and they had it done for only an hour's labor. Well designed part. Can't wait for the weather to get better for some biking
I have Curt hitches on other vehicles.....this one is typical Curt quality
Install wasn't hard but the hitch hangs about 4 inches lower than the stock hitch. I wouldn't have bought had I known that in advance.
The hitch arrived quickly and intact. I have not had a chance to install it yet, but based on the last two hitches I bought from etrailer, I expect it to go smoothly.
This Hitch receiver was exactly as stated and fit perfectly on our vehicle.
The install was pretty straight forward. I have had many years working as a mechanic and doing my own maintenance. This thing was time consuming. I ended up with 3.5 hours into it. However, the final outcome is glorious. We will be throwing a luggage rack onto it. It is going to free up a lot of real estate in the Prius. We will use it for a bike rack for future trips. The hitch really did bolt on nice and secure. I would never have issues with it not being strong enough or coming loose (if installed properly). Again, very straight forward, but a time consuming install. Well worth the effort.
I have mounted and used Curt hitches before and have always been satisfied with the quality and relative ease of installation. I have not installed this yet, but etrailer gives good instructions. I have inspected the hitch and all looks great! It was shipped free and came quickly. Great customer service etrailer!

Great so far. I hope my dealership can install it correctly.
Works great! Easy install. Takes about 1.5-2hrs depending on how mechanically savvy you are.
The hitch hides very well. I like how the bumper was allowed to go back on.
The big one is the $[XX] savings compared to my second choice at $515
Getting the bumper skin off was the hardest part. After that it took 10 minutes. To install the hitch and bumper beam. Then 30 minutes to reinstall the skin. The hitch looks perfect I had use of a lift and my brother who is a car mechanic. I have installed five different curt hitches. If it wasn’t for the bumper skin this would have been the easiest so far.
Good hitch, but bear to install. Had to bring to Toyota dealer in the end; who back bumper had to be removed, and when complete, left a small, mostly imperceptible gap between body and bumper. But don't think there are any other options is you own the latest Prius.
The mounting bolts are too short because not enough threads extend beyond the nut. We had to find new, longer hardware. Other than that, it fits well.
Had to make some minor modifications to the hitch with an angle grinder and die grinder to get the bolt holes aligned with the frame holes but, overall, the fit is very good and it looks great as well as the only part visible is the receiver itself.
Was a little difficult on install, having to take rear bumper cover and other things like factory rear bumper crash bar to install hitch. So was more involved than normal for install, maybe 3-4 hr. for a home owner, but fit well and barely noticeable exiting under the bottom center of the bumper. Made and fit well.
Fit is excellent! Helpful to watch you-tube video in removing the bumper. Also the bolt size was a little off. 15mm turned out to be 14mm socket and the 13mm should be 12 mm. This is my third hitch I’ve installed. Difficulty fell in the middle of the previous two. I’d rate it a 5 out of 10 for installation difficulty.

This my second purchase of this hitch...I've had it installed on 2 Priuses now and I love it. The installers also love it and highly recommend it. Great product and e-trailer is great to work with.
