I reached out to the manufacturer, Buyers Products, who told me an ICC bumper is NOT required on your truck in order to install the Buyers Products Flatbed/Flatbed Dump Hitch Plate Bumper with Pintle Mount # 3371809050 or the same bumper with 2" Receiver # 3371809055. view full answer...
The Buyers Products Hitch Plate with 2" Receiver Tube - Ford # 3371809060A you were looking at does not include the required hardware so you will need to source them locally. You will need to use Grade 8 hardware and also weld the hitch to the frame of the vehicle.
I included a video of the # 3371809060A for you to take a look at. view full answer...
The Buyers Products Hitch Plate part # 3371809061A is a universal weld/bolt-on hitch plate. That said, the dimensions are geared towards Ford F-350/450/550 trucks so if this is what you have it would be a great option. view full answer...
Besides the price difference the only real other difference is that the # C49480 and the # 80948 are made by separate companies. The Curt combo bar is # C49480 and the Tow Ready combo bar is # 80948. Tow Ready is a brand that is owned by a larger parent company named Cequent.
These companies compete with each other in the trailering market so it isn't uncommon to see two similar parts with different pricing.
To answer your question, some customers prefer one brand name over the... view full answer...
We do have some hitch bars but unfortunately, we do not have any stolid steel 2" hitch bars in a 30" length. The longest one we have is the # D36 you were looking at, which is a 24" length. We do have an Unfinished Receiver Tube # C49480 that is longer, but it is 48" so you would have to cut it down.
I also included a link to our full selection of hitch fabrication parts for you to look for the best solution for your application. view full answer...
I pulled the quick links and quick loop that you referenced as well as the safety chains, # 2118-605-04, that you purchased and found that the best option for you will be the 3/8 Inch Quick Link, # 6590-044-04. This quick link will fit through the safety chain links and the safety chain loop. The measurement of the opening of the quick link is 0.48 inches (31/64 inches) which is slightly larger than the 7/16 inch diameter of your chain loops (see photo).
I made a short video showing... view full answer...
According to Buyers Products, their # 3371809067 is indeed a fit for a 2021 Ram 3500 Chassis/Cab with a 10K GVWR. The hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight capacity of 20K.
If you click the provided link, you can see a product description video featuring the # 3371809067 hitch. view full answer...
The Buyers Receiver # 3371804055 can be used in quite a few applications. As to your school bus bumper, there really shouldn't be any issues. I will say, however, that you will want to make sure there is a good amount of support on the bumper, especially where the # 3371804055 is going to be installed. If it is a little lacking, I would suggest shoring it up with a few braces for added support. I should also mention that the bumper on your bus is most likely not rated to be towed with,... view full answer...
I went to the warehouse and measured, the wall thickness of the Buyers Products Black Receiver Tube part # 337RT25848B is 0.27". This has a maximum gross trailer weight of 20,000 lbs so you will not have any issues using it for your farm equipment. view full answer...
I went to our warehouse and pulled a sample of the Draw-Tite 24-Inch-Long Combo Bar # 2852 so that I could measure its outside dimension for you. The bar itself measures 2-9/16-inches on each side and the reinforced collar area at the end of the hitch tube measures 2-7/8-inches on each side.
I prepared for you a photo of this part with these dimensions noted. view full answer...
We do carry a range of hitch fabrication plates such as the Buyers Products Fabricators Hitch Plat part # 3371809040 which measures 34-5/8" wide x 15-5/8" tall. That said, these are universal in design as the end product requires modifications to fit the exact application. I don't have any options specific to a particular make or model but these are the same plates you do see installed on big rigs so what you need to do is choose the one with the best dimensions for your particular application... view full answer...
The longest a-frame coupler style would be a sleeve lock like the part # CA-5296-B. The width of it is 9-7/8 inches which you can use that dimension as a way to tell where it would fit on your trailer and then from that point out measure 16-1/4 inches to see how much additional length it would add beyond what you have now. view full answer...
We do indeed have shorter 2-1/2 inch combo bars available than the 18 inch long # 11029 that you referenced.
For a 12 inch long bar you can use part # 337RT255812 or for an even shorter 8 inch bar you can use # 337RT255808. I have attached a couple short video demonstrations on these bars that you can also take a look at. view full answer...
I do have an option for you but they do not offer a custom fit front mount trailer hitch for your 1985 Ford F-250. Instead, you would need to use something like the Curt Weld-On 2" Receiver part # E17 and then fabricate a cross tube and set of brackets to attach it to. This will be you only option in regards to a front mount trailer hitch but if you can tell me what you intend to use the trailer hitch for I would be glad to see if other options are available. view full answer...
I'm pretty sure I understand what you're wanting to do but I don't think we have exactly what you're looking for. The closest option we have will be something like the Brophy Hitch Extender # RHSE that measures 19 inches long (which represents the longest such extender we have available) along with a fixed ball mount like the Curt # D-26 that would insert into the extender for an extra 12-5/8 inches of length plus the desired hole for a hitch ball.
We also have the Lets Go Aero Flat... view full answer...
The wall thickness of the Buyers Products Plain Receiver Tube # 337RT255812 that you referenced is 1/4 inch which means it's outside diameter is 3 inch by 3 inch. view full answer...
Curt combo bar # C49360 does not have an official weight capacity rating because it is not an extension. They use this bar and others in the manufacturing of their trailer hitches which have a wide range of capacities. If you can tell me the intended purpose/amount of weight I can tell you if the combo bar will be able to handle it or if something else is needed.
But if you are looking for a 2 inch hitch extension then the longest that fits a 2 inch hitch and still has decent capacity... view full answer...
The Buyers Products hitch plate part # 3371809065 that you referenced is designed to be welded on by a professional. The bolts holes are there for you to hold the hitch in place for when it gets welded on according to our techs at Buyers Products. They do not provide any written instructions either as they want you to take it to someone with the experience and skills needed who wouldn't need them. view full answer...
As long as a qualified welder is used, a Safety Chain Attachment Loop like part # E950 could be welded to the receiver as shown in the photo I provided. Having an amateur welder weld it could result in the hitch being weakened. This would be the best and easiest solution for you.
There's no set distance that you should have it welded on the hitch at, but if you use the picture I attached as a guide you would be just fine. view full answer...
The # C49480 isn't a hitch extender. It's actually just a 48 inch long hitch tube for fabrication purposes.
If you had a 2-1/2 inch hitch the Reese extender part # RP45292 is 34 inches long and might work well for you. view full answer...
