What Is the Measurement From the Center of Pin Hole to Front of Receiver EcoHitch # 306-X7601?

Question:
Hi, whats the distance between the pin hole and the front of the receiver in the ecohitch 306-X7601? I have a 2015 Outback 3.6, with an OEM Subaru receiver hitch installed, and that doesnt work with my Thule bike carrier, which requires at least 1.5inch for safety and stability. Yakima carriers have the same requirement. Also. is it possible to drill a second pin hole, further away from the front of the receiver, so that the shank of the bike carrier goes in even deeper?

Hello Constantine,
That is very interesting that the OEM hitch for Subaru does not work with the Thule bike rack. We are a distributor for Thule and to my knowledge all of the hitches that we carry work with the Thule bike racks. I reached out to EcoHitch and they were able to confirm that the measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the front of the receiver is 1.875 in. So that confirms that not only is the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7601 a perfect fit for your 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon, but you will most definitely be able to use your Thule bike rack.

Hey Constantine, how did the EcoHitch work out with your Thule bike rack on the Outback? It sounds like that extra clearance should have solved the fit issue. Sharing how it performed could help others running the same setup.
