Updated 12/12/2024 | Published 12/11/2024

Question:

Hello. I have a Honda Civic hatchback, 2017 EX. I would like to install a rear hitch to support a bike carrier. I have an ebike, about 60 bls. What do you recommend?

Hi Bob; the Curt # C92UR you looked at is the best option for your 2017 Civic Hatchback. This has a bolt-on installation and comes with a lifetime warranty. It has a concealed cross-tube so only the receiver will be visible and has a thicker powder coat compared to the Draw-Tite so it will hold up better over time.

I also see you were looking at the Trailer Hitch Adapter # e93YR. Keep in mind, using the adapter will cut the capacity of your hitch in half so you will only be able to carry 100 lbs. I'm guessing you already have a bike rack since you are looking at a 2" adapter so make sure the weight of the bike rack and your e-bike doesn't exceed 100 lbs.

Hello Robin What is the difference between the Curt #C92UR and the "Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4"? Are the metal thickness the same? anything else?

@Bob the only real difference with these two is going to be the powder coat. Curt typically has a thicker powder coat finish so it will hold up better over time.
