Hey Dave, thanks for getting in touch. I do have a solution for you, but the dual hitch adapters like the Roadmaster # RM-077-10 cannot be used for towing a trailer. They are for flat towing only.

A better option is to use the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers part # 325-GH-315. This is basically an adjustable ball mount that features five stacked 2" receivers. It is rated for towing up to 10,000 lbs or 1,500 lb of tongue weight and I actually recommend these for this exact purpose pretty frequently. You can tow the trailer using the ball mount attachment then place your bike rack in the uppermost receiver.

These ball mounts are available in different orientations and different amounts of rise/drop. Basically, you just want to be sure your trailer will tow level when using the lowermost receiver on the ball mount. The # 325-GH-315 I mentioned has 10" of drop. if you need something different take a look at part # GY32NR which also has 5 stacked receivers but only 7-1/2" of drop.

The link below will show you the full selection of the Gen-Y stacked receiver ball mounts. Let me know what you think or if you have any other questions.

Hey Dave, how did things go with the Gen-Y stacked receiver ball mount for your Tahoe and travel trailer? Did it give you the clearance you needed to haul the bikes too? Your experience could help others looking to tow and carry gear at the same time.
