Does Curt Replacement OEM USCAR Trailer Connector Allow 7- and 4-Way to be Used Together

Question:

I am looking to replace the OEM trailer connector on my 2024 RAM 1500 with the C42JR so that i can use both the 4-way and 7-way connectors at the same time. The issue is that when i read the QandAs there are 2 conflicting answers. Bud M. says No and Jameson C. says Yes. Also the video from Bruce mentions something about taking the vehicle back to the dealer to have it FLASHED. What does that mean?

Hi Richard,

The connectors of the 4-way and 7-way are unable to open at the same time with the Curt t # C42JR; what you'd need instead is the Replacement Custom Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connectors # 30955.

This has the 4-way on the side of the connector so there aren't sockets to open. And as for having it flashed, I'm not certain what that is referencing; this is just a replacement that fits in the USCAR connector so you won't need to.

Hey Richard, how did the Replacement Custom Multi-Tow connector work out on your Ram 1500? It sounds like that setup should let you use both connections without needing any dealer flashing. Your update could make it easier for others sorting through the same options.
