Crosswinds and passing semis can make towing stressful, but this system keeps everything in line. The Blue Ox SwayPro uses a hitch head built with a positive caster angle that naturally self-centers the trailer behind your tow vehicle. Constant tension in the trunnion spring bars holds the trailer steady, reducing sway before it starts. The result is a solid, confident towing feel where your trailer tracks straight and true without the jerky corrections or noise of friction-style setups.

No more clanking bars or grinding sway controls. The rotating lift brackets on the SwayPro keep the chains tight and stable, minimizing movement and eliminating the popping sounds that come with older designs. With only a couple of chain links visible, everything stays taut and quiet. It gives you smooth, noise-free towing—even on rough or windy roads—and you don’t have to disconnect anything when backing up.

Getting this system ready is straightforward. The hitch head comes with the correct angle preset, so there’s no need to mess with washers or fine-tuning adjustments. Just slide it into place, set your height using the shank’s 1-1/4" spaced holes, and lock the trunnion bars with the included pins and clips. The clamp-on rotating brackets mount about 29" back from the coupler and require no drilling. You can have it installed in about an hour, and once it’s set, connecting and disconnecting is quick every time you tow.

When your trailer’s weight isn’t evenly distributed, steering gets light and the rear end can sag. The SwayPro evenly spreads tongue weight across all axles—restoring balance and improving control. Designed for trailers with 350 lbs–550 lbs of tongue weight and up to 5,500 lbs gross towing weight, it lets you tow confidently at your hitch’s full capacity. The system’s durable powder-coated steel build and grease zerks in the head assembly make it both long-lasting and easy to maintain.
Everything you need comes in the box—head assembly, 13" adjustable shank, spring bars, lift chains, rotating lift brackets with handles, 2-5/16" hitch ball, reducer bushing, pin and clip, and all mounting hardware. Built to fit 2" x 2" hitch receivers and trailer frames up to 6" tall, it offers up to 13" of rise or 7" of drop to fine-tune your setup. Once installed, you’ll notice how stable, quiet, and effortless your towing experience becomes.

Everything was in great condition, was missing a couple nuts and the wrench to turn and lock the chains in place. Just used an adjustable wrench and went and bought a couple nuts from a hardware store.
I love this hitch. Well designed. A lot nicer and easier than my previous hitch.Works like it should.
Easy to set up and tear down. Works great on keeping the trailer towing true and smooth down the road.
So far so good. Very nice product. Very well designed and heavy duty. Simple installation. I had to get a little custom with installation, but that’s not the product’s fault and I think it turned out awesome.
While I have only just received my hitch and done pre-assembly, it is exactly as ordered and all parts appear to be in order. This was recommended by the RV Sales where I am purchasing my new Travel Trailer, so I have little to no concerns for how it will fit. I expect great performance from this hitch and will be happy to share my experiences after a good run.
I think this will work great. Mounting it now. I am making 5/8" spacers for the trailer tongue to take up the extra space. Your service was excellent. Thanks
Every thing with Blue Ox is better than I expected. And every one from Etrailer is so helpful and dedicated. Kelly P. was a big help! Thank you Etrailer
Works good and as described. We've used this Blue Ox SwayPro many times now and it does stabilize our 28' ATC well.
Easy initial set up...lots of videos online to help... And great customer service from the etrailer team.... Answered all my pre purchase questions honestly and professionally!!! .... I had paid for expedited shipping which UPS screwed up.... etrailer refunded the expedited fee before I could even call in!!! That's customer service!!! Thank you!!!
Great hitch easy setup pulled 120 miles to OBX had 15-20 mph wind gust hitch worked great on a 36ft forest river classic. I will note one of the cams seemed to be looser on the shale than the other one will keep a check on it make sure not a defect. Taelor at trailer was great to work with followed up to make sure I was all set. Thanks Taelor!!
I have had this hitch for my smaller camper for years. Now that I am upgrading to a larger camper, I wanted to make sure that I was ready with the new Blue Ox Sway Pro. Absolutely love this hitch.
Just got the weight distribution hitch today. I think all the parts are here. Some scuffs and scratches. Wasn't packed well at all. The hitch head was hanging out of the box. The box was not strong enough for the hitch and its parts. Other than that, the Blue Ox looks to be well built and a nice hitch.
It works great! Assembly instructions were easy to follow also was able to look up an installation video on YouTube as well. Went slow it was about an hour install time. Once hooked up couldn’t even tell I was pulling my trailer,
Works great. I pulled an 18k trailer and the hitch performed as expected. I didn’t read the instructions on how to use the roll over chains which led to one dragging a few miles but I would buy them again. Love that you can use different springs based on your needs. Overall great product.
The product so far is great. It was easy to install and seems to work well. The instructions are a different story. They don’t have a whole lot of details and leave you guessing sometimes. The hitch is quite. Just remember when you are hoisting the truck and trailer up to get rid of the tension, you need to go higher than you might think. It’s especially important when unhitching. If you have to much tension left in the bars, it will spin the wrench out of your hands. Don’t ask how I know. I bought this to replace a friction anti sway. It was difficult to set up, was noisy and and didn’t work as well as this seems to. The purchase was easy and the shipping was good. I did not need to call and ask questions because the web page worked well. Free shipping on the hitch was great because it is fairly heavy. Thanks!
This WD system is so easy to install (compared to Reese Strait Line With Dual Cams). Had a little problem cranking the rotating bracket until I realized the chain had to go on the other side...then easily locked in place. Only have had it out on one trip and it seemed like a smooth ride. Maybe on the way home we'll have a large vehicle go by to see if the trailer sways at all. Heavy duty parts.
Hitch did exactly what it was designed for. In fact while hauling I was forced off the road at about 68mi an hour steered to come back on the road, 6in rise truck jumped in the air trailer wheels came off the ground rocked from side to side almost turning on its side, but everything held together and straightened out and we were able to finish our trip
I’ve had the SwayPro hitch for about a year now, with well over 1000 miles of towing. Settings the chain tension is critical - I started by towing with the factory suggested number of links, then towed with added and subtracted links to find the best balance of ride, sway control, and adjusted the ball attachment to then set the final ride height. It took some time and needed a high range torque wrench, but the result was excellent towing in all conditions. Recently, I changed tow vehicles. This required re-adjusting the ball mount to keep correct height, then again trying different numbers of links in the tension chains, but I once again I found the sweet spot and am thoroughly pleased with this hitch. Compared to the simpler and cheaper hitch I had before, its well worth the extra cost and the extra effort to be able to get it “just right.”
Great service. Got it in two days-shipping free. Very helpful staff. Use them often-always a pleasure.
Works exactly how it’s suppose to. We had a little difficulty getting it set up with the instructions included, but once we figured it out, it’s a breeze to hook up and take down.
Very good quality. Easy to install and adjust. Handle my travel trailer perfectly.
The Blue Ox made a big difference in reducing the sway in my trailer and certainly helped reduce the effects of bumpy roads. I am very satisfied with it.
Purchased this brand after seeing good reviews on a forum for travel trailer owners(Winnebago micro minnie). Thousands of miles in my year using it and absolutely satisfied.
