I have a 2003 build date July 2002 Vin 1D7HA18N73S102495 .. it has an OEM Hitch with a hole for a ball in the middle of the bumper. The sides possible bolts are empty ..No bolts in there. I am trying to something like product 13326 ,but I am NOT sure if it is going to work in this truck. The reason NOT to use the bumper hitch is that the bumper cover gets damage all the time.

I would recommend the Curt Class IV Trailer Hitch, item # 14361, for your 2003 Dodge truck. This is a frame mount hitch which will not require you to remove the knockouts in the factory bumper cover and it has a higher towing capacity which will allow for more towing options and greater safety when towing. There are no pitfalls to this hitch that I know of.
The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, item # 13326, is also a good hitch the only downfall is that if the tongue is overloaded the bumper will be damaged along with the hitch.
