Wiring Harness Options For 2019 Chevy Equinox LT 1.5 AWD
Published 10/18/2024 >
Question:
I have a 2019 chevy equinox lt 1.5 awd. Question .. Is there a T type wiring harness that works strictly off of the power for the rear lights instead of having to run a power wire to the battery.. If so which one..are there any cons to this type of harness.. Also is there any etrailer dealers in ny that can do the installation .. Thanks Kev

Hello Kev, thanks for reaching out. We do have wiring harness options for your 2019 Chevy Equinox. If you already have the factory tow package, you can use a plug and play harness like the Tekonsha # 118285. This plugs into the OEM tow connector and does not require running a wire to the battery, since that connection would already be present.
If you do not have the tow package, you will need to use the Tekonsha # 118750 instead. This plugs in behind the tail lights and does require running a wire to the battery. The converter module must have its own dedicated power source, and this can only be done by going straight to the battery. There is no way around this if you don't have the factory tow package.
We should have some good installers in your area. The link below will show you our installer locator. Just enter your zip code and you will see the full list of installers in your area. Feel free to reach out if there is anything else I can do.
