Question:

For my 2012 Suburban 1500, should these be all the parts I need to set it up to flat tow behind my motorhome? [I have the 2-speed transfer case so vehicle is good to flat tow] Demco brake control - DM86VR Roadmaster base plates - 3154-3 Roadmaster Blackhawk tow bar - RM-422 Roadmaster 80 coiled cables - RM-653 Roadmaster 7-wire to 6-wire wiring kit - RM-15267 Thank you, Russell

Hi Russell; it looks like you have a pretty good list put together here and covered just about everything. For a complete setup you will need the following:

-Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # 3154-3

-Roadmaster BlackHawk 2 All-Terrain Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-422

-Roadmaster 64" Single Hook, Straight Safety Cables # RM-645 (changed to straight since BlackHawk has cable guides)

-Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267

-Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes # DM86VR

-Roadmaster Universal Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751000 (For brake system installation, OEM brake light switch unusable)

I swapped the safety cables to straight cables so they can fit the cable guides on the tow bar. You will also need the stop light switch kit. If you have the adjustable brake pedal you can use the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit - GM Pickups/SUVs w/Adjustable Pedals # RM-751220 instead which will save you some money.

The only other thing you may need is a high-low adapter. I attached an article below which explains how to measure so you can choose the right one. I also added a link to all of our available adapters for your reference.

To answer your question about your brake controller, you do not have to worry about it interfering. The brake controller installed on your motorhome and the Stay-IN-Play Duo are two different systems that won't interact.
