Hello Allan; to add a 7-way you need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This kit comes with the adapter, wiring, and everything else required to upgrade your existing 4-way to a 7-way. The # C55774 you were looking at is designed to fit if you have the factory 7-way with a US Car connector.

For the brake controller I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR. This brake controller is reliable and easy to use. The main unit installs behind the dash with only the control knob visible, giving it a factory look.

If you have the factory tow port under the dash you can use the Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # 331-TPH-005 for installation. However, you will have to find a way to tie in the brake output wire from the 7-way to the factory wiring for this to work. If you do not have the port, or don't want to mess with the factory wiring, you will need the Universal Wiring Harness # RED69FR.

We don't have any installation videos on a Lincoln Navigator for these parts so I attached some from other vehicles so you can see what the process is like.

Hey Allan, how did the upgrade to the 7-way plug and Redarc brake controller go on your Navigator? Your update could make it easier for others adding a brake controller to a 4-way setup.
