I have a solution for you. The Fulton Single Speed Trailer Winch - 10" Long Handle, w/ 20 FT Strap - 1,800 lbs, # F142306, is the winch I recommend for your application.
This winch uses a 2-way ratchet system and has a solid drum design which is much more corrosion resistant than the typical riveted drum and gear assemblies on other winches.
This winch is a replacement for the T1801Z0301 that was originally the replacement for the T1801 Fulton winch.
