Question:
I have a 2005 Volvo XC70 with a factory tow hitch. I need to install wiring to connect a trailer. I might need the 7-pin wiring to use a trailer with brakes. What install kit can I use on my car to allow me to use either a 4-pin or 7-pin connection?

Hey Paul, you would first need to start with a 4-way on your 2005 Volvo XC70 which we have with the part # 46255. Then to convert to a 7-way you'd want the part # ETBC7 which also has a 4-way on the side of it. To operate the trailer brakes you'd then need a brake controller like the P2 part # 90885 and you'd be set.

Hey Paul, how did the wiring setup go on your Volvo XC70 using the 4-way and ETBC7 kit? Your update could make it easier for others wanting both 4-pin and 7-pin connections on similar vehicles.
