Question:

how do I hook up a 10 watt solar battery charger to 2 batteries wired in parallel? do I need to unwire them or keep them wired. will a 10 watt solar charger be sufficient to trickle charge both batteries

Yes, you can charge a pair 12 volt batteries wired in parallel with a 10 amp solar panel like the OptiMate Solar Duo Solar Charging System - Roof Mount # MA49JR or Portable # MA69JR.

You will keep them wired in parallel and this will allow a sufficient trickle charge.

@Doug If you're using the clips you'd just connect the : red clamp to the positive terminal and black clamp to negative terminal on the battery.

Let me rephrase the question In order to charge both batteries still wired in parallel, do I hook the positive cable to the positive terminal on one battery and the negative cable on the other battery or can I hook both cables to one battery and as they are still wired in parallel will the solar charger charge both batteries Thank you Doug

@Doug Good question, I should've been more clear, and you were correct with your first scenario: hook the positive cable to the positive terminal on one battery and the negative cable to the negative terminal on the other battery.
