Does BedSlide Sliding Truck Bed Tray Work on 2006 Toyota Tacoma Composite Bed

Updated 06/07/2025 | Published 09/10/2024

Question:

This is something I am only considering right now. I have a 2006 Tacoma 4x4 TRD V6. access cab - 6foot bed Snugtop shell. The truck bed is a composite and not steel. 1. How securely does the bedslide mount to a composite truck bed? 2. Are there any issues with off road stress that could crack the truck bed at the mounting point?

Hey Jerry,

The BedSlide Sliding Truck Bed Tray w/ T-Tracks # BE76WR mounts very securely to the composite bed of your 2006 Toyota Tacoma. There will not be any issues with off-road stress that is going to crack the truck bed on you Tacoma with the # BE76WR installed.

I just read your reply to Jerry C regarding mounting to the Tacoma Composite bed. You cannot mount this directly to a composite bed on a Tacoma, you need to buy the No-Drill bed mount kit that attaches to the frame bolts in the bed. If you put a rivnut in the composite bed it will rip out the first time you pull out the drawer with a full load on the tray. I know this because I consulted with Bedslide before I ordered my Bedslide S for my 2017 Tacoma.
