Looking For 36" Long Double Eye Leaf Spring

Updated 04/27/2026 | Published 09/02/2024

Question:

Hello, I have a utility trailer with double eye leaf springs under it. The problem is, one set broke. These measure 36 from eye to eye. I do not see that option on your website. Is this something you offer?

Hello Steve, thanks for reaching out. We do carry a lot of double-eye leaf springs, but I am sorry to say that we do not offer anything 36" long. In fact, we do not have anything even close to that size. Our largest double eye spring is the # UG34FR which is 30" long for a 5,000 lb axle. Since you are replacing the springs on just one side, you will need to find a direct match for the current springs. The only solution I can offer you would be to replace the springs on both sides and this would involve relocating your spring hangers and welding on new ones to accommodate a shorter spring.

Hey Steve, did you end up finding a replacement spring that matched your trailer’s 36-inch setup or decide to go with the shorter ones and move the hangers? Knowing what worked could help others dealing with a similar spring size issue.

@JesseM Would also be very interested in learning if he found a solution! I’m in the same boat needing a 36”x1.75” eye to eye spring!

@EdD Looks like we never heard back from our friend Steve here about the leaf spring. I still haven't heard of or seen that long of a double eye leaf spring. Just out of curiosity, what kind of trailer do you have?

@JesseM Thanks for the prompt response! It’s an ASVE type 3k lb trailer I bought locally; no brand to speak of. Welded on hangers so I’m 100% certain the original ones were cut off for this project. I too have searched high and low for 36x1.75 leafs but it seems they were OEM on either very old trailers or very old light duty trucks from the front axle. I have the ability to reweld new spring hangers but was looking for an easier bolt-in option before.
