Really Easy to install. I installed these on a 5x10 Cargo Trailer. They were 4" too wide for my trailer, but were very easy to cut to make fit.

by:

Two thumbs up for the product and service. Installed smoothly on a 5x8 Intersate trailer. It is going to work great for hauling my canoe.

are the bars that the ladder lay on adjustable? I have a 5 x 10 enclosed trailer will it fit correctly? Thanks

The cross bars are a telescoping design, so they can fit trailers as narrow as 4 feet and as wide as 8.5 feet. You can set them up at whatever length you need to accomodate the load, so long as you can still properly attach the feet.

my trailer is 16 similar to yours.I am a roofing contractor and use large 32 extension ladders and 20-24 walk boards. Would you recommend me putting 2 sets on, or do you think one set would be enough for all the equipment I intend to carry? Your input would be appreciated. Thanks

It seems if you extend it out to 85 it would make the rack less sturdy. My trailer is 85 wide. What are your thoughts

The crossbars on this ladder rack are designed to be adjustable from 4 feet to 8-1/2 feet, and will support 400 pounds. As long as you can securely attach this ladder rack to your trailer, and the width of your trailer falls within the adjustable range of the crossbars it will work. When extended closer to 8-1/2 feet you may see more flex and movement in the crossbars, but it is rated to support up to the full 400 pounds.

Product Review: I love the light weight aluminum and design. I changed the self tappers that came with it for longer bolts, washers and lock nuts just for my own peace of mind. Looking forward to using it with my next job.

by:

Purchased for kayaks on top of a trailer. Installed by a garage for expediency. By all accounts it’s an easy install if done personally. Two self tapping screws that tap into the top trailer frame. Two screws per bracket and the brackets sit on the rain gutter. The only complaint I have is they are tall. We had them cut down, but with being cut down, without modifications, they are still about 6-8” off the roof of the trailer. The height makes it harder to place the kayaks and inadvertently less aerodynamic.

by:

Used two sets of these for solar panels on my inclosed trailer. Work great and are holding up fine after a year of use!

by:

It was installed very easily. We use it as a kayak/canoe rack on our camping trailer, and it has served its purpose very well.

by:

Nice aluminum. Works well just to strap something down. Racks are square and edges are sharp. Can’t slide ladders on and off.

by:

I installed this to hold my luggage carrier on my motorcycle trailer to move from Virginia to California and I left it on my trailer since then. It works great!

I still have the rack on my trailer, but I cant use my trailer anymore because I converted my motorcycle into a trike and it wont fit in my trailer so Im going to sell it with the rack.

by:

I am very happy with the racks! They were very easy to install (one person less than 30 minutes). We live and work close to the ocean and after one year they show no signs of rust or wear I need to order one more as I have found myself over loading just the two.

As a building contractor, I highly recommend this product and e-trailer! Even the delivery came the day it was scheduled.

Thanks e-trailer

etrailer.com was very user-friendly and their staff was very professional in helping with shipping our new ladder racks for our work trucks. The Ladder Rack - Rackem Fitz-all kit we purchased is very durable and has a carrying capacity of 400 lbs.

by:

The included hardware did have some issues going into the steel structure of the trailer. So did my drill bits. Was able to purchase hardware locally for the ones that snapped. The rack has been great. Supports my solar array fine and doesn't move.

by:

Installed on utility trailer to carry additional kayak(s). Install straight forward, easy install.
Why pay more for “specialty” rack with lower load rating- just need something to finish off (make scratch resistant) the top ends of the vertical posts.

by:

I just ordered this week, received quickly, and installed my aluminum ladder/kayak on my cargo/kayak fishing trailer. Very happy with it. I cut it down 3 inches to make strapping it down possible by standing in/on the trailer. Looks so good I have to wash that trailer. I plan to add racks to the inside to hold my fishing poles and, install a vent with fan, and maybe hang a hammock. Wrapped plumbing pipe foam insulation wrap on the crossbars to cushion the yak.
Installation instructions were spot on.
I recommend this rack to anyone. I think the price was reasonable and weld quality is superb.

by:

These ladder racks were excellent, as expected. Very easy to install, even for someone like myself who had never installed a set before. They're very sturdy and we have no issue with loading multiple ladders on them. On top of that, the customer service when I called in to place the order was excellent. They took my order quickly and shipped out the same day, plus emailed me a tracking number. I would definitely buy these racks again.

by:

The racks themselves are strong, and we'll designed. The welds are good and they're relatively easy to install. My only complaint s are that the diagonal braces on the uprights had holes punched in the middle of each. The problem with that is water can get in them without anywhere to go. To remedy this, I drilled a small hole at the bottom of each for a drain spot. The other complaint I have is the crossmembers have grinding marks all over the end of them where somebody ground down the welds where the inner and outer crossmembers was adjoined. The metal is rough there like a blind person did it (thinned and wavy). I don't even understand why they had to grind it that much, just to flatten out what was probably tack welds. I'm sure they're not all like that, and they'll still do what I need them to, and it wasn't reason enough for me to send them back, plus I needed them asap because I don't have ladder racks on my truck anymore. I would have given them 5 stars if not for those things. etrailer.com was easy to deal with. They're very professional, and notified me when they shipped, and had them to me when they said they would. I will definitely order more things from them in the future.

by:

I purchased these on Tuesday evening and received them Thursday afternoon. Working by myself An hour and a half later I had them installed. Super easy to install. I put each section together first and extended them to the approximate measurement. I took two 5 gallon buckets and flipped them upside down on top of my trailer then set the rack across them. I installed screws on one side then making sure it was straight installed screws on opposite side. Repeating the same steps on other rack .

by:

I used the rack to mount solar panels to my travel trailer. I shortened the legs so that the panels are closer to the roof. It works great for my application.

The Rackem Fitz-All Enclosed Trailer Ladder Rack # RA-28 does adjust horizontally to allow it to fit trailer roofs from 4-feet to 8-1/2-feet wide but its height is fixed based on the position of the roof rain gutters, which are required in order to install this rack kit. It offers a 400-lb load capacity.
