Question:
Is it okay to mount the brackets on the trailer only 22inch back from the center of the ball? Only have 22inch before the frame of the trailer goes under the body of my Keystone Cougar travel trailer

Hey Mark,
No, the Reese # RE44FR cannot be installed with brackets 22" back from the center of the coupler. It only works with the brackets between 24-1/2" - 27-1/2 back.
Instead the # C17332 works with tongue weights between 800-1000lbs, and can be installed with drill-on brackets # C17005 which you mount by drilling holes in your frame and bolting it on. This will allow it to work underneath the body of your trailer.
