Recommended Trailer Jack to Move a 5,000 lbs Trailer

Updated 01/19/2026 | Published 08/11/2024

Question:

Hi, I have a 2.5 ton dual axle caravan which I have to slightly maneuver on my driveway, which has about a 50mm fall off the level. Would this Ark crank wheel be capable of doing the job. Regards, Mark

No, but I have one that will! Since your caravan weighs 5,000 lbs the Ark Xtreme item # ORJW1SU is going to be way under capacity. Instead you'll want to use the Trailer Valet 5X Swivel Jack and Trailer Mover item # STC-V211. This jack attaches in a similar manner and has a handle that you can turn to power the wheel. It also has a built in emergency brake that will be helpful on your incline and drop off.

I have linked a review video below so you can see the functions of this jack demonstrated.

The included Drill Attachment will allow you to maneuver your trailer with a cordless drill.

Hey Mark, how did things go with the Trailer Valet 5X on your caravan’s driveway? That built-in brake and drill attachment sounded like a solid match for your setup. Your feedback could really help others dealing with a similar incline.
