Is There a Trailer Dolly that Could Move a 4,500 lb Boat Trailer
Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 10/06/2025 >
Question:
Would this be able to move around a 20foot fiberglass boat on a trailer? Combined weight of boat and trailer is around 4,500 lbs.

Hey Jacob, a 4,500 lb trailer is probably going to be too heavy for a person to pull around with the Trailer Valet Dolly part # TV73FR that you referenced. The dolly would be fine but even on perfectly flat pavement a single person would struggle and probably not be able to pull it around. Instead a dolly like the # STC-V211 would be a better option as it uses a crank to move the trailer where it it has more mechanical advantage. Would that be something you'd consider?
