Question:
I am looking for an air conditioner for a older hard shell popup camper. And was told you have a 9 amp size. I dont see one that size so I am wondering if I misunderstood info given. I have a couple more questions also.

Hi Brenda; that was probably in reference to the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM135. We have the power draw broken down for this one so it has 9.9 amps listed for the compressor while running but the AC while running draws 15 amps. The lowest we have is the Furrion Chill HE # FR26PR with a power draw of 11.2 amps while running. The Furrion unit also has a built-in start capacitor. If you're replacing an AC unit we have the # FR82PV with a conversion kit for Coleman, Dometic, or Advent Air setups.
If you're adding an AC and the camper didn't have one before you need the full system with an air distribution box which is # FR52PR. This requires a roof thickness of 3-1/2" to 6" for installation so you may have to add some wood or other material at the opening to make the roof thicker.

Hey Brenda, how did things go with the Furrion Chill HE air conditioner for your popup camper? Did the power draw and fit work out the way you needed? Your update could make it easier for the next person with an older camper setup.
