2018 3500 gmc 8 foot bed single cab single axel 992 arctic fox camper 3100 dry weight is this to much for a box mounted tie down

No it's not, Jim. According to the interwebs your truck has a payload capacity of 6,724 lbs so with your camper being much lighter you're good to go.
