Can Keys be Replaced on Diversi-Tech Aluminum Ball Mount

Question:

Hi. Love my hitch, I’ve had it for over 15 years and the issue I’m having is the keys are worn out and it’s questionable if I can get them to work anymore. Can the keys be replaced? I tried to take them to a locksmith that does the cylinder keys but they couldn’t get it to work correctly. My model is the V-5 and came with one set of keys that worked both locks ? The key has 5512 stamped on it.

Hi John,

The V-5 is a rating as opposed to a model, and keys can be replaced so long as you have the Aluminum Series (ALBM or LBM) of Diversi-Tech ball mount. I can't quite tell from the photo if that's what you have, but it looks like you do have the barrel key so I would think you do. If you can verify you have the Aluminum Series then to get new keys you would just need the following:
