How to Replace the Cap on an Andersen Greaseless HardBall Hitch Ball
Updated 05/06/2014 | Published 05/05/2014 >
Question:
This greaseless ball is great so I bought an extra cap just in case I will need it in the future. So how is the replacement cap held onto the ball? Glue? If so, what kind?

Expert Reply:
I went out to the warehouse and pulled greaseless ball to see how exactly the nylon cap is held on. It is not glued on or held on with a fastener. It is pressed on the ball. When it comes time to replace the cap, you would use some channel locks or large vise grips and pull off the old cap and then press on the new one.
It is understandably difficult to remove the cap on a brand new ball. After enough wear and tear it would come off a little easier.
