I have a new camper that has the Castle Rock ST ST205/75R14 tires on it. I am going out west for three months camping and will put on about 12000 miles, how many miles is that tire good for?

This type of question is always challenging due to the amount of varying opinions, different experiences, and lack of controlled environment with set standards. Please keep in mind that Castle Rock is an economy trailer tire so they will not perform at the same level of a Goodyear tire. However, feed back available to me was a statement of a 7,500 mile trip with great performance and no significant wear. But your 12,000 mile trip will be pushing the limit on most any economy tire currently on the market. I suggest you follow good tire maintenance of keeping tires properly inflated at max psi without overinflating, do not exceed speed rating or max weight rating. Perform a walk around each time start to travel and have happy journey.

My 2021 trailer came with Castle Rock tires. I have traveled about 2000 miles a year each year. I have had 3 out the original 4 tires blow out. The first 2 blow outs were in year 2 The last was in 2024. I have taken all 5 “spare included” off the trailer and replaced them with Carlisle tires. No problem so far. The damage to the trailer was approximately 3,000.00 for the total 3 blow outs.
