Question:

I have a 2022 Honda Civic Sport. I would like to tow a tent trailer. What do I need on my car to be able to do this. When I bought the care new, I did not add any sort of tow package. Can you tell me what I would need to buy and get installed?

Hey Amy, thanks for reaching out!

To tow a small trailer with your 2022 Honda Civic Sport you need a trailer hitch, wiring, and a ball mount:

- Curt Trailer Hitch # C92UR
- Curt T-Connector Wiring # C43VV
- Ball Mount (see attached article)

The hitch can tow up to a 2,000 lb trailer but from what I saw online your vehicle can only handle 1,750 lbs so that will be your limiting factor - you also need to confirm this in your copy of the owner's manual.

The wiring tees in behind your tail lights and is powered by a wire that goes to your battery so you don't have to worry about overloading your light circuits.

The correct ball mount will depend on the height of your trailer coupler. In the attached article we go over everything you need to know about picking out the right ball mount. The only thing you need to know is the height of the trailer hitch, which we found to be 11" when we installed the Curt hitch on a 2022 Honda Civic Sport.
