Question:
I have a 2005 honda civic. Wondering two things: 1 How bad is the install of Curt model? 2 Does it require drilling near the exhaust or affect that part? Thanks

The Curt hitch # C11204 does not require any exhaust modification for installation. The installation
The Curt hitch instructions which I have linked for you seem to indicate that the holes are large enough so it is possible that you would not have to make modifications for either hitch. This install does not require any drilling and is rated as a 3 out of 10 for difficulty.
The Curt hitch will be fairly concealed with just the receiver visible. On the Draw-Tite hitch the receiver and the cross tube will be visible.
If using a hitch for a bike rack or cargo carrier (basically anything other than a trailer) the Curt hitch requires the use of a stabilization strap # 18050. I have linked a video showing how it works. Draw-Tite does not have this requirement.
And since both hitches are Class I hitches you will be limited to 2 bikes maximum if using the hitch for a bike rack. If it were me I would use the Draw-Tite hitch because I do not like the idea of having to use a stabilization strap.
