So, you have a two inch hitch, but you have a 1 1/4" accessory for that hitch. Well, etrailer designed a couple of different reducers, to reduce your two inch down to 1 1/4" so you can use those accessories. All of our reducers are going to be a hollow shank, so we can put an anti-rattle device on the inside of there, if we wanted to. But this is the longest one of all of them. So, from the center of each hole the distance is seven inches, so that's the amount you're going to extend off, but you're also gonna reduce it as well. The distance from the center of the hitch-side hole to the edge is gonna be 2 3/8".
And then right here is gonna be 1 5/8" from the face to the center of our hole. So, all you gotta do is just put it in like any other accessory. Line it up. And it does not come with a hitch pin or clip, but you want to get a 5/8" diameter, just because there's not much play there at all. And the reason why I talk about the hollow shank is you really do want to put a anti-rattle system in place.
So, you can either use the little piece that goes on the inside of the shank of our accessory, or there's another thing we can do, which is our anti-rattle device. So, this one can be used with hollow or the solid shanks, and it just goes like this. Let me line this up. You'll want to make sure that lip is facing down. There's a washer that we put on each of 'em, and then a lock washer we put on each of 'em, and then we just take this little nut on both sides, snug it down.
And the last thing we need to do is push this all the way up against our hitch receiver tube. Get it tightened down the best you can by hand, and then take a 3/4" socket to tighten it down. You wanna be pretty even with this to make sure it's nice and snug up against the hitch receiver. Kind of jump from one side to the other until it's nice and tight. And as you can see, and hear, there's no rattling going on, and it is one with our hitch receiver.
Something I definitely recommend grabbing, especially if you're already grabbing a hitch pin and clip for it. So now, all your 1 1/4" accessories are gonna be able to work, even if you do have a two inch hitch receiver. If you do have a 1 1/4" ball mount, you do not want to tow with these. That's just how it is. So, this isn't gonna be a solution for those who want to use that 1 1/4" ball mount to haul your trailer. It is gonna have a capacity of 350 pounds tongue weight, and 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight, but look at the rating of your hitch on your vehicle and cut that in half. Because with any reducer, whether it's etrailer's brand, or any of the others on our website, it will cut that capacity in half. You don't have to get a new accessory to fit your new size hitch, and you don't need to swap out your hitches just to use your one accessory you had before. Problem solved with the etrailer hitch reducer..

Very happy.
Finally had the hitch (with the hitch reducer and anti rattle hitch receiver lock) installed on my 2025 Hyundai Tucson by my mechanic. Have to say I am VERY disappointed with the hitch reducer . My bike holder is as shaky and unstable as ever. I won't even try to put my bike on the holder for fear of the bike holder and bike falling off. Very disappointed with the product. Now I will have to figure out how to stabilize the the holder. I have a fear of having to now spend more money to remove the hitch reducer and purchase a bike holder that fit the the 2"hitch.
it fits in the receiver as it is designed to...
Just as advertised!! Thx
Purchased this adapter, plus [TS34VR BAJA Collection Boomerang Hitch Pin w/ Clip for 1-1/4 and 2" Hitch Receivers - Black] and [RM-061 Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches] to attach a Thule, T2 Pro XTR 2-Bike Hitch Rack to a 2024 Subaru Outback that has a 2" OEM hitch receiver. I've had it installed for more than 2 months now and it has worked well. I've probably used the rack ~10x since installing it with this adapter. I'm very happy to have found this product because I first tried getting an adapter direct from Subaru [Subaru Thule 1-1/4 Inch To 2 Inch Hitch Adapter For Accessory Bicycle Rack] but it did not work and was clearly intended for some other combination of hitch receiver and hitch rack.
Nice construction, but poor tolerance for inside dimension (it’s almost 1 3/8”) Unusable with my Kuat bike rack which is sadly the reason I bought it - bike rack will not firmly attach. Don’t recommend.
It looks like it will do what I need it to do, providing more space between the bike rack and the back of the vehicle.
Exactly what I needed to accommodate my bike rack. However, since it's only natural that I already have a 5/8"
pin for my existing 2" hitch I didn't require the one included with this reducer. Perhaps offer the pin as an option and reduce the price accordingly.
After ordering this for a bike rack installation I wasn’t happy with the way it worked so I sent it back to be returned for a refund. I never received the refund or any correspondence for the reducer. Please let me know why and what happened.
Works as advertised. No visible wear. Only concern is it can be difficult to align holes with hitch. Have to get it perfectly aligned and slowly insert into receiver. Wish there was a way to align holes before I put this and hitch into receiver.
It works but the 1 1/4" section measures 1 3/8" making a very sloppy fit for my bike rack. I'm securing the 2" side with an anti-rattle pin which works well. There is much more movement in the rack than there was on my old vehicle which had a 1 1/4" receiver. I made a shim from some 1/8" thick aluminum angle which greatly reduced the movement in my rack. Not a very satisfying solution.
As always, a perfect fit.
This adapter works much better than etrailer's 7" adapter since it basically consists of the 7" adapter with a 1 1/4" hitch throat welded to it. This allows bike racks to fit much more snug & also allows enough length to use etrailer's combo locking pin/anti hitch rattle device which, in addition to providing security for the adapter, essentially eliminates any play of the adapter in a 2" receiver. My bike rack doesn't sway or bounce in the least with the anti-rattle device.

Worked well, but I no longer have the vehicle I used it on.
