I am looking at the CURT 17355 Weight Distribution Hitch. I am going to be getting a 2026 Ford F250 next week and want to order the right hitch. I am thinking I will need a lower shank than what comes with it. The F250 has a 2.5 Receiver. I will be towing a 25 to 30 foot RV, I havent got that yet either. Can you recommend which one I should get? Would like to get right hitch so I dont have to use a reducer sleeve on the receiver. Thank you for your help.

The Curt TruTrack 2P Trunnion Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - 7-Hole Shank - 12K GTW # C75RJ will work great with your 2026 F-250 to pull a 25-30 ft RV. There isn't a kit with a 2.5" shank, but you can add Curt Weight Distribution Shank for 2.5" Hitches - 9-1/4" or 10" Drop - 13" Rise # C17132 to swap to a shank that won't require a reducer and then you'll also have the original 2" shank in case you ever need to use this weight distribution system with another vehicle that has a 2" receiver.
The # C75RJ weight distribution system will be good system for your upcoming trailer purchase if the trailer weighs less than 12,000 lbs and the tongue weight is between 800-1,200 lbs. For a smaller system, you can go with # C95MJ (8,000 GTW, 500-800 TW) and a larger system would be # C17501 (15,000 GTW, 1,000-1,500 TW). The 2.5" shank will work for both options. Do you know what model of camper you're going with or its weight capacity?

I have a 2022 F350 4×4. I use the shank that came with it and a reducer. I am towing a 32 ft TT that weights about 8k lbs. I have not had any issues. I do wish I had spent the money for a weigh safe hitch but I was trying to spend as little as possible.

If you call etrailer tech support they are very good and they can help in most situations. Curt doesn't make one that has a 2.5" hitch out of the box that I can see, but other vendors etrailer sells does, like Blue OX. This hitch you are looking at comes highly recommended on all reviews I've seen. Another option might be to buy a 2.5" drop hitch seperate like a Curt C17132, a shorter drop might work better for you. I can say that I wouldn't trade my 2P 17355 Curt hitch like this for anything. This hitch works great when setup correctly... I think if you call etrailer tech support they can help you find the best solution for your vehicle.
