Question:
I am purchasing a 2024 GMC Canyon Denali trim to flat tow behind a 2024 Dynamax Dynaquest XL 3400KD which has air brakes. Could someone recommend a complete flat tow setup for this? Also, I am located in the Sacramento CA area, could you recommend where I could take this for professional installation? Thank you. -Kevin G

Hello Kevin, congrats on the new truck and new motorhome. I can definitely help with this. First, I will give you a list of parts, then a few important notes and such. For your 2023 GMC Canyon Denali I recommend the following:
- Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM27YV
- etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e94ZR
- Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
- Roadmaster Battery Disconnect # RM-766
- Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes # DM26VR
Keep in mind that disconnecting the battery is a requirement for flat towing, and using a disconnect kit is by far the best, safest way to do this. You will need one disconnect for each starter battery. Aside from that most everything else will be pretty straightforward. You may need a drop hitch such as part # BLU28XR to compensate for any height differences between the base plate and the hitch on your motorhome. The Demco Air Force One is easily the best choice for motorhomes with air brakes. It is effective and reliable.
As with any flat tow setup, I do suggest that you check your owner's manual and thoroughly read all of the information pertaining to flat towing your vehicle, if you haven't already.
As far as installers, it looks like we have quite a few in your area. I suggest either Happy Daze RVs or Vanco which are both in Sacramento, or American RV Service Center in Rocklin. The link below will show you the full list of installers in your area. You can always give any one of them a call and see what they say. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
