Question:

I have a 2024 Kia Telluride SX Prestige X-Line V6 AWD... the vehicle does have LED tail lights I plan to order the Curt hitch C13420 and would like to know what wiring harness will work with this vehicle. also, is there an advantage to a 7 way wiring harness vs. the 4 way?

The correct wiring harness for your 2024 Kia Telluride SX Prestige X-Line is the Curt # C29ZV. This plugs into the connection points in your rear cargo area and is compatible with your LED lights.

The # TK74CR is only designed to work with the LX and S which do not have LED lights. If you wanted to install a 7-way you would need to start by installing the Curt 4-way and then upgrading it with the # ETBC7. The adapter that comes with this kit has both a 4-way and 7-way plug.

Having a 7-way will allow you to tow a trailer with brakes. Some without brakes also have a 7-way connector. I personally like to have a 7-way so I can tow any trailer. If you have a trailer with a 4-way and don't think you'll ever tow something else the 4-way wiring is fine. You could always upgrade your wiring later if need be. If you don't already have one, you will also want a ball mount like # C45534 to use with the # C13420.
