Question:

I see two different Roadmaster plates for my 2024m Silverado 1500. Is either of them better than the other one?

I personally prefer the Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM86MR over the Crossbar-Style # RM76MR for your 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 because it is easier to connect and, as a result, it isn't as bulky so it makes your whole flat towing setup look a little cleaner.

The Crossbar-Style kit has to connect to tow bars by using the Crossbar Assembly # 910021-00 so it's just another piece that HAS to be used in flat towing and since there are already a lot of steps and connections needed in a flat towing setup I usually recommend making things easier and more simple.

For a complete flat towing setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. If you do not have all of these components just let me know and I can make some additional recommendations for you.
