Question:

I am considering the purchase of a 2020-2022 Toyota highlander. Platinum version. V6 engine all wheel drive. 20 inch wheels. There vis as full size spare under the car and the car also has the hands free gate opener. I need a rack to haul bicycles. Currently we have a 1.25 but could also use the 2 inch. Do you Haver a solution ?thank you,

If the full size factory spare is on a 20" steel wheel then you will be able to use the Draw-Tite # DT84MR. If it is an aluminum wheel then the only option is the EcoHitch # EH35VR. These and all other options may interfere with the hands free liftgate sensor.

In most cases all you have to do is put your foot on either side of the receiver. However, the sensors aren't always placed in the same spot so occasionally the functionality is lost. You might want check with the Toyota dealer to see if a sensor relocation kit is available.

I know the wheel is made of steel, but I do not know the dimensions of the wheel. I am assuming it’s the same size as the wheels on the car but I could be mistaken. I will verify this thank you for your info one more question are you looking at a 2 inch hitch or one in a quarter?

@RichT Draw-Tite implied that any 18" or 20" factory steel wheel would mean it fits. They're probably standard across all of the vehicles unless you have the aluminum. All of the hitches for the Highlander are Class III which means it has a 2" receiver.
