Best 3-Bike Truck Rack For A 2024 Toyota Highlander

Hello! Im buying a 3 bike rack for my sister for her birthday. She has a 2024 Highlander and it doesnt have a trailer hitch. I have been trying to find a compatible trunk rack but am struggling. Are you able to help with some options?

Hey Emily, thanks for reaching out. We do have a 3-bike trunk rack we've confirmed to fit the 2024 Toyota Highlander. A lot of manufacturers have gotten way more cautious with trunk rack fit approvals on newer SUVs like the 2024 Highlander because of the plastic spoilers, lightweight hatch construction, backup cameras, and powered liftgates. If they can’t fully test and certify a rack on that exact vehicle, they’d rather list “no fit” than risk damage claims or liability issues.

That said, here is the rack I recommend:

- Yakima FullBack 3 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms # Y02633

This can carry 3 bikes weighing up to 35 lbs apiece so it works great for road bikes or standard mountain bikes. For children's bikes, women's bikes or any alternative frame bike, an adapter bar like part # Y02531 will be needed. This will be a solid setup for occasional use and short trips.

If your sister plans to bike regularly, or go on long trips with the bikes, the best long-term setup is still adding a hitch # e75ZR and using a hitch mounted rack. Let me know if this is something you want to look into.

What kind of bikes will she be hauling? Is it more for regular or just occasional use?

Hello Emily, I bought the Yakima 3 bike rack from Etrailer last year for a 2020 Forster and was skeptical at first but it fits great. I bike all the time and it stays on my car for long periods of time , even though it’s for 3 bikes I usually put 2 bikes and have plenty of space for a 3rd. Highly recommended! Mike
