Question:

I have a 2022 GMC Sierra LTD and currently use a Curt Echo brake controller 51180 that currently already plugs into my receiver. My question is first, do I need this unit to make my newly purchased Halovision BT7 3 of them work and second will this affect my trailer brakes, seems like a lot of things daisey chained at the receiver. If not any other solutions?

According to our research you'll need the 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter # FR87PR for the Haloview to work properly with your 2022 GMC Sierra, we haven't tested this out on our end as of yet, but from what I found online this looks to be a universal problem no matter what camera system you're using.

Everything will function properly with the daisy-chain setup you mentioned, but I definitely get where you're coming from. If you want to avoid 2 adapters sitting at the back of your GMC Sierra then you could swap out the original Echo for the Curt Echo In-Line # C79DR which tees in before the 7-Way socket (behind the bumper). This obviously means you're spending some more money though so it's really up to you whether you'd like to go this route or not.
