Question:
I have recently moved up to a 7x14 TA cargo trailer from 6x10SA. I have questions on brake controllers and weight distribution hitches. My vehicle is a 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland 5.7 hemi with 7000 lb tow rating I will be towing 5000 lbs factory tow package. I just towed it empty for 450 miles and its a lot different than my single axle. Im looking for advice.

Since your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland has the factory tow package I recommend using the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR which you can connect using the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # RED77FR. This is a very simple to use proportional brake controller and it only has a small dash mounted control knob so you will not have a large controller on your dash.
The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0800 will help with reduce the amount your rear suspension sags and makes the drive much safer. With this rated for a trailer up to 8,000lbs with 400-800lbs of tongue weight you will be able to have the 10-15% tongue weight when loaded to help the trailer track properly.
You will need either a 2" # EQ91-00-6080 or 2-5/16" # EQ91-00-6100 hitch ball to match your trailer coupler. And The 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 is needed to attach the ball to the hitch head on the Fastway e2.
