Can The 1,600PSI Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Be Used On 15K Axle Drum Brakes?

My buddy is wanting to put HBA-16 on his EOH brakes . 15klb axles . It has HBA -10 on it now but 5-6 sec delay. He had drum brakes, it says for disc brakes. Will the 16 be ok with drum brakes?

Expert Reply:
You are going to want to use the 1,200psi Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator # HBA-12 for his trailer. The current 1,000psi Actuator # HBA-10 is only for use on 7,000lb and smaller axles.
The 1,600psi Actuator # HBA16 is only for use with disc brakes. If used on drum brakes the higher pressure could damage the brake solenoid.
