These smart diodes ensure your RV's brake and turn signals display correctly on your car's multiplex incandescent tail lights. Prevents damage from electrical feedback. Includes 2 diodes.
Features:
Note: If you need a complete kit with wiring and installation supplies included, pick up RO94FR (sold separately) instead.
A variable voltage tail light (also known as multiplex) uses the same wire for both the brake light and the tail light, sending a 12-volt signal to the brake light and a 9-volt signal to the tail light. This works fine when you're driving, but when you are flat towing, the RV will send a 12-volt signal to both the brake light and tail light, making them the same level of brightness and impossible to distinguish from each other. The drivers behind you won't be able to tell the difference between your tail lights and your brake lights, which is a huge safety issue.
These smart diodes solve that problem by simply converting the signal from the RV to the lower voltage needed for your car's tail lights. They install permanently, but don't worry; everything will work as normal when you're not flat towing.
This kit is designed to work with incandescent lights only, so if you have LED variable voltage lights, you'll need kit RO54FR (sold separately) instead.

Fast service and quality products.!!
Works well
These were easy to install and worked as advertised.
My package came a day late and appeared damaged. I guess I’ll need to see if they still work
DELIVERED EARLY, WORKING FINE.
I did not get tracking or ETA on your webpage. it just showed it was here on the 13th and that was all.
This worked perfect for my 2025 Chevrolet Trax 2RS.
It was the perfect answer for the lighting the single bulb tail light, thank you!
Fast shipping, but the price seems unre asonable.
Great service and speedy delivery
These worked great and were an easy install etrailer has good videos to follow.
I am very pleased with etrailer products. Specifically the Roadmaster smart diode set for my flat towed vehicle. Turns out that
Installed these about a year ago and they have continued to work great for us. Easy install if you’re fairly comfortable wiring new components to your vehicle. Follow eTrailer’s videos to guide you through the process.
They worked liked advertised.
I do hope the diode are correct ones for My LT Chevy Equinox. My tech in the near future will be doing the installation along with the rest of the parts I bought from etrailer

Let us know if these don't work for you, Raymond. We would happy to help find you the right option if these don't end up working out when you get the chance to install!
At first I don't have all the right parts to complete the job, but I call customer service and they rectified it right away. I installed the whole towing setup by watching a utube video. It has worked out great in towing our 2024 Trailblazer!
Works great for multiplex taillights.
etrailer is my go to for all trailer / towing equipment, I have and always recommended your company to friends and family with needs in tow / trailer and RV items. You always provide five star service. That said.
I finally got time to install the smart diode set on my F150. I still have the same operation I had before with the 4 standard diode setup. Each light has Two blubs each having Two elements, the taillights illuminate the taller element in both and the turn and brake illuminate the shorter element in both blubs from the truck systems. From the RV systems only the lower blub is illuminated for taillight, turn, and brake. There are only 4 wires total at the connector: ground, turn, brake, and taillight. After the connector 3 go to the upper blub and jumper to the lower blub. One goes directly to the lower blub. Any ideas on how to get both bulbs functioning will be greatly appreciated.
This was incredibly easy to install and worked great. I have been a mechanic most of my life, but I feel even if you've never done wiring watching the video would be all you need. The hardest part was getting the taillights out.
