Dexter Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Not Compatible w/Integrated Brake Control, 2010 GMC Sierra

Question:

I have a 2010 GMC Sierra with a factory integrated brake controller, I have Dexter eh 1000 on my trailer. There is a compatibility issue and the eh 1000 wont work off the controller. Will the T4846000 work in this application.

The Dexter electric over hydraulic actuator does not have its own adapter for use with the integrated controller on your truck. Titan BrakeRite EHB Adapter for Ford/Chevy Integral Brake Controllers, part # T4846000, will only work with the Titan BrakeRite EHB.

You will need to install an aftermarket brake controller like the P2, # 90885, which is compatible with electric over hydraulic braking systems.

To install a new controller on the truck, you will need to access the tow package wiring under the dash and wire in the controller. There are also some connections that you may need to make under the hood. I have included a link to an FAQ article that explains the process for you. I have also linked instructions for the P2.
