Good Evening: 2024 Silverado 2500 HD trailer brake error messages and disconnecting GM dealership told me to get this adapter or a Dexter what are your thoughts? Thanks

I have to go off the GM dealership recommendation. If they are saying you need the Hydrastar # HBA-CAM or Dexter # DX35FR adapter module for your factory brake controller to work with your electric over hydraulic brake actuator, then I can't really deny it. The main issue is the factory brake controllers are controlled by the ECU on the truck and as trucks continue to change one year you may not need the adapter and the next you you may. Since they have started doing over the air updates as well one day everything will work fine and the next day the programming could change everything.
