Dear eTrailer.com, I have a 2002 Nissan Frontier XE truck. I am looking for a trailer wiring harness for this model truck. My application is to use a 5 x 10 utility trailer. Please let me know your recommendations on a harness.

To add a standard 4-way wiring harness to your 2002 Nissan Frontier XE, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C56FR. This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your Nissan's wiring harness, which is located under the vehicle behind the spare tire. It will allow you to control the lighting functions on your utility trailer.

If your utility trailer has brakes you will also need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your vehicle with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it. You will then need to run a wire to the battery, brake controller, and a ground wire.

To round out your towing setup, I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
