Will The etrailer Base Plate For 2017 GMC Canyon Allow For Connection Using Blue Ox Tow Bars?

Question:

I am interested in your etrailer base plate for a 2017 gmc canyon . I would like to double check the fit and make sure it will work with a blue ox tow bar . The item i am looking at is e98966 . Please advise , thank you .

Yes, the etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit # e98966 for your 2017 GMC Canyon is compatible with a Blue Ox tow bar like the Avail # BX7420. Just be sure if you are using a different tow bar that it still has the Blue Ox style ends on the bars.

Blue Ox recommends using their Tail Light Wiring Kit # BX8869 and you will need a battery disconnect unless you plan on physically connecting and disconnecting your battery. Do note if you use a supplemental braking system and physically disconnect the cables you will need to connect the braking system. If you have a gas engine you will want the Battery Disconnect # RM-766 or for a diesel engine Disconnect # RM93MR. You will also want to use the Charge Line # RM-156-25 when using a supplemental brake system.

I feel the Demco Air Force One # DM26VR for tow vehicles with air brakes and Stay-IN-Play Duo # DM86VR for vehicles with hydraulic brakes are the best supplemental braking systems we offer. They both ensure the brakes on your Canyon are only activated when the tow vehicle is braking to prevent the brakes from becoming damaged or excessively worn.
