Question:
Hi i currently use the curt C19745 tow bar to pull my jeep cj7. I run safety cans from the tow vehicle hitch to the frame of the cj7. I seen on some tow bars they use 2 sets of chains. one in front to the towing vehicle and one in back to the towed vehicle. it looks like the curt bar has holes for brackets to attach chains this way. What is the best way to do run the safety chains? also are cables better then chains? My set up works but i have a lot of chain hanging under the tow bar.

A single set of safety chains would be adequate for a flat tow setup like with your Curt Tow Bar part # C19745. What we recommend the most is a set of coiled safety chains like the part # RM-643 as they are basically like a spring loaded safety cable that are really easy to keep off the ground and not get tangled. A lot of times people will wrap them around the arms of the tow bar.
