Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Gen-Y hitch plate-style gooseneck safety chain anchors for the Ford and GMC underbed gooseneck hitch. They have a 30,000-pound weight capacity. Now this is a set of two safety chain anchors that are designed to work with your Ford or GMC factory-installed under bed gooseneck trailer hitch. Basically, these hookups attached directly to the rearmost power pucks that are built into your gooseneck rails for a nice simple mounting and removal. Now, the reason these are custom-fit for the Ford and GMC trucks is that the way the anchors lock into the underbed system.
And I am going to show you the difference. But basically the easy way to tell is if, if you look at the anchor themselves, they have etched on here a letter to let you know the vehicle that they'll fit. This one has an F on it, same way over here, and that's telling you it'll fit the Ford and GM trucks. The one that fits the Ram trucks, the Dodge Ram trucks is different and it'll have a D stamped on there. So what I wanted to show you is when you go to install these, what you'll do is take out your linchpin here and then that'll rotate.
You can see how these rotate. If you look at the tab underneath when you rotate 'em 90 degrees, that tab rotates 90 degrees and allows you to drop it into the underbed system. Once they drop in, when you rotate it back, that tab rotates and locks 'em into that system, and then you just put your linchpin back in there to lock it and you're ready to go. Now what I was talking about, the difference is this one is the Ford/GMC. I happen to have the Dodge one here.
You can see it has the D on it. And if you'll notice when this one's in the lock position, if you look at the angle, and if you look at this one when it's in the lock position, you can see there it's totally about 90 degrees off. So that's the difference. You do need to make sure you get the correct ones for your application. Now these are made in the USA.
Gross towing weight capacity on these is 30,000 pounds. But you do need to remember the capacity is limited to that of your hitch. But that should do it for our review on the Gen-Y hitch plate-style gooseneck safety chain anchors for the Ford and GMC underbed gooseneck hitch.
